Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known as Ashanti was born on October 13, 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a songwriter, singer and actress from the United States. Ashanti started her career as a teenager, then was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. In the same year, she was in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? The track "What's Love?" by Fat Joe as well as Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time was a huge hit for both of them.
